Meritor Tire Inflation System (MTIS) with ThermALERT
Reduce trailer downtime caused by underinflation and wheel-end failures with the Meritor Tire Inflation System (MTIS) with ThermALERT. This complete retrofit kit connects your trailer's existing air supply directly to the tires, automatically replenishing lost pressure to prevent the heat buildup and wear that lead to blowouts. Unlike standard inflation systems, this kit includes ThermALERT technology, which uses a thermal screw in the wheel end that melts during overheating events. This releases a controlled stream of air to create an audible whistle and trigger the driver’s warning light before a bearing failure occurs. The Meritor H197522S5 kit is sized specifically for tandem axle trailers with straight spindles (such as Meritor TP, TB, WP, or Hendrickson HP) and includes 4.00-inch thru-tee fittings along with the necessary Stemco-style oil hub caps for a seamless installation.
