The Paccar Wiper Arm Shaft transfers motion from the wiper drive mechanism to the exterior wiper arm. As the wiper motor operates, the shaft rotates, causing the wiper arm to sweep across the windshield. This action repeats continuously during wiper operation to maintain visibility in rain or debris conditions. The shaft remains fixed within the mounting point while transmitting motion outward. It interfaces directly with the wiper linkage on one end and the wiper arm on the other. Service access occurs from the cowl or dash area. The Paccar GS4890 uses a mechanical linkage to control windshield wiper movement.
