ConMet Brake Drum
The ConMet Brake Drum absorbs braking force as friction is generated between the rotating drum surface and stationary brake shoes. When the brake system is actuated, the shoes press outward and contact the drum interior, slowing wheel rotation. Heat created by this interaction is dispersed through the drum body as the vehicle decelerates. The drum rotates with the wheel and participates directly in every braking event rather than remaining static. Its function centers on friction engagement instead of hydraulic or electronic control. The ConMet 107863 supports repeated braking cycles at the front axle position.
