Meritor Steering King Pin Bushing
The Meritor Steering King Pin Bushing is used during front axle service to restore proper articulation between the steering knuckle and the king pin. During operation, the bushing forms the contact interface that allows the knuckle to rotate under steering input while carrying vertical load from the axle. This interaction occurs whenever the vehicle changes direction, absorbing friction generated by turning forces. During maintenance, the bushing is pressed into position using standard shop procedures, restoring the steering assembly to correct operating behavior.
